Current Roles

Bookkeeper/ Junior Accountant

The successful applicant will assist with the growing workload. Working within in a small team predominantly preparing and submitting financial statements for a variety of different businesses ranging from sole traders to limited companies and Charities and Social Enterprises. They will also ideally have at least two years' practice experience, excellent organisational skills, and an enthusiastic attitude towards work.

Position Overview

The successful candidates duties will involve (but not limited to):

  • Preparation of client bookkeeping using either Quickbooks, Freeagent, Xero, excel and others
  • Purchase ledger and sales ledger for a variety of clients (inputting invoices, bills, expenses, etc)
  • Preparing, Overseeing and filing VAT Clients and ensuring clients are MTD for VAT compliant
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly Management reports for clients
  • prepare, monitor and report on budgets, forecast and management reports for clients
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Calculation and posting of journals
  • Accounts preparation for Limited Companies, Sole Traders, Partnerships, Charities and Social Enterprises.
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Company Secretarial Work, such as filing confirmation statements
  • Work from clients sites, as well as the office (and occasionally from home)
  • Be a key point of contact for ad-hoc finance queries
  • Dealing with HMRC, Charities commission, Companies House
  • Reporting to Managers
  • Completing CPD requirements
  • Completing Money Laundering and GDPR requirements
  • Undertake any other duties, as requested

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in incomplete records accounts preparation;
  • to have a minimum of two years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice in as a accounts junior, bookkeeper;
  • Be fully AAT/ICB/IAB (or equivalent);
  • Able to meet deadlines;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with minimal supervision.

  • who has an understanding and knowledge of accounting techniques;

  • who has good communication skills – with the ability to communicate with people at various levels of knowledge face to face, over the telephone and in writing;
  • who has good IT knowledge including Microsoft Excel and Word;
  • who has excellent monitoring and record keeping skills;
  • who has the ability to work with a diverse range of people;
  • who has the ability to work alone and as part of a team;
  • who is able to work efficiently under pressure;
  • who has good Planning, organisational and time management skills;
  • who has a Professional attitude and appearance;
  • who is excellent at meeting targets and deadlines;
  • Full UK driving licence (as you will be required to travel to clients premises).

Salary and hours

Salary: £24,000-28,000 per annum (FTE, your wage will be pro-rata'd to your hours) depending on qualification and experience

Working hours 9am – 2pm Monday to Thursday (Can be flexible with hours/working patten) - 18 hours (this is a growing position, hours to increase over time, to potential full time)

Senior Accountant

  • Overseeing a juniors work on sole trader, partnership accounts and tax returns
  • Corporate, Personal and Partnership Tax Computations and Returns
  • Assisting and completing client Bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Accruals and prepayments
  • Calculation and posting of journals
  • Company Secretarial Work, such as filing confirmation statements
  • Work from clients sites, as well as the office (and occasionally from home)
  • Preparing, Overseeing and filing VAT Clients and ensuring clients are MTD for VAT compliant
  • Liaising and meeting with clients on a regular basis regarding their Accounts, Tax and other related work
  • Dealing with HMRC
  • Training and supervising less senior staff and reviewing their work
  • Reporting to Managers
  • Completing CPD requirements
  • Completing Money Laundering and GDPR requirements
  • Undertake any other duties, as requested

Junior Trainee Accountant

Position Overview

To acquire foundational accounting skills and knowledge by assisting with day-to-day financial operations, supporting colleagues, and ensuring accurate financial record-keeping.

Key areas of responsibility:

Your duties in this broad-ranging role will include working with self-employed individuals through to limited companies and your specific responsibilities will involve:

    • Preparation and completion of Annual Accounts for Sole Traders, Partnerships and Limited Companies.
    • Preparation and completion of Corporation Tax Computations (CT600s).
    • Preparation and completion of Personal Tax Returns.
    • Assisting and completing Client Bookkeeping
    • Accruals and prepayments
    • Calculation and posting of journals
    • Bank statement reconciliations
    • Preparation and filing of VAT returns
    • Company Secretarial Work, such as filing confirmation statements
    • Undertake any other duties, as requested
